
Ioana Petcu
Ioana Petcu is an experienced energy and climate expert, background in communication and public affairs. She currently leads Eurelectric’s work on EU climate change regulation, industrial competitiveness, and innovation.
Her portfolio covers key policy areas such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), and the broader Clean Industrial Deal Framework — spanning support for industrial decarbonisation, lead markets, and trade policy.
She joined Eurelectric in 2018 to spearhead media interactions and crisis communications, as well as multichannel engagements, enhancing the organisation’s advocacy impact.
Prior to this, she gained experience at NATO, the European Parliament, and the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
Ioana holds a Master’s degree in International Relations, specialising in diplomacy and conflict resolution, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.
