Gregor Weinzettel
Dynamic energy market professional with extensive experience in European gas and power markets, business development, and strategic innovation. Over the past decade, Gregor contributed to major initiatives in European and international gas market development and integration, interdependencies of exchange and OTC traded power and gas markets, implementing the application of trading technologies in exchange trading.
At the Energy Community, Gregor served since September 2019 till September 2025 as Gas Expert and Deputy Lead of the Ukraine Support Task Force, focusing on enhancing regional energy security through the establishment of the SEEGAS initiative, supporting market liberalization, and improving resilience across the energy sector in central, eastern and southern Europe. Gregor played an active role in building the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and developing Ukraine’s gas market, fostering cooperation between European institutions, governments, and private stakeholders.
Previously at the European Energy Exchange (EEX), Gregor led growth initiatives for gas market expansion in Central & Eastern Europe, analyzed innovative business models, and contributed to corporate strategy and M&A activities.
Recognized for bridging policy, market design, and technology, Gregor is passionate about advancing an integrated energy future - one that strengthened both European markets and their partners beyond the EU, which he is trying to achieve through his role in the United Seas for Gas (US4G) project initiated in September 2025.
