Montenegrin Power Exchange (MEPX) was founded by CGES, COTEE and EPCG with the intention of establishing a wholesale organized power market in the form of an electronic trading platform.

Power Exchange market in Montenegro consists of two market segments:

• Day-ahead market (services provided by EPEX SPOT; in-house model of financial settlement with clearing system provided by BSP SouthPool)
• Long-term market (purchase and sale of electricity for delivery periods not less than seven days)

The overall goal is to create new business opportunities for market members, better efficiency, more competitive prices, greater security, quality and standard of services.

The market is anonymous, transparent, optional and accessible to all companies and partners who meet the regulations for market participation.
